If it means the game ships with less bugs then I'm all for the delay.
Hope for their sake Spiderman 2 isn't releasing that same month, otherwise Starfield is gonna get Horizon'd (which all things considered, still did quite well).
The PS5 doesn't need a game with a lot of bugs for 2 years straight. When the PS5 version?... Oh, wait...
Yeah thats the main thing I'm waiting to see. The actual gameplay systems. We know it has guns, grenades and jetpack flight. And base building.I just wish I could understand the thing that makes this unique. Like VATS for example. Or magic like the ES games. Or is it closer to NMS? Anything that'll make it stick out?
I aways said that because its really expected from them, but you know what...I'm more concerned about the planet visit thing. I bet this will be the bread and butter of this game, as I think it will increase the longevity of this game. But that talk about using AI procedure leave me quite unease.

I have no worries about it running on XSX, that machine is a beast. For once, Microsoft didn't release gimped hardware.I have a bad feeling about how this will run on XSX due to the scale of the game and how current releases are even having to make sacrifices to run at an acceptable performance level.
The last thing XBox needs to do is operate defensively, worrying about a Playstation exclusive. Xbox needs a system seller on its own terms, meaning IF the game is great it will sell systems despite any anti-Xbox propaganda.Hope for their sake Spiderman 2 isn't releasing that same month, otherwise Starfield is gonna get Horizon'd (which all things considered, still did quite well). Calm down Phil.I have no worries about it running on XSX, that machine is a beast. For once, Microsoft didn't release gimped hardware.
With Starfield announcing their date first, that would give Insomniac room to move their game so that it isn't overshadowed by Starfield now. But, I am buying them both, even if they came out on the same day I admit though, I do wish Starfield was H1 2023. Oh well, a few less bugs and more polish isn't something I should complain about I guess.I mean it's true though. And I used Horizon, not Forspoken. The Horizon games still went on to do very well in sales, they just got outshined near launch because of massive releases (BoTW; Elden Ring). Hogwarts really kinda snuffed out Forspoken and I don't see Forspoken having the legs of the Horizon games (not to mention it isn't at their quality scale, though it seems better than the memes make it out to be from those who've actually played it). Starfield would be in a similar position if it came out too close to Spiderman 2 so it benefits them to not release too closely.
And it seems like they've got a good window that's competition-free. Should give the game enough breathing room.
When the game releases after a few more delays it will play completely by using your imagination. It’s the new, best, and final interface ya know. Not a shred of actual gameplay in that trailer, lulz
Maybe I read it wrong awhile ago, but wasn't there a set number of "curated" planets. Let's pretend and say like 5 planets. And the rest of the 995 planets or whatever are generated? No way they were going to model 1000 planets by hand. They're AI generated though against certain guardrails, and then devs go over each one to ensure they're good and consistent.
Looks like the best solution for having tons of extra planets to explore.
They don’t have the excuse anymore that they have to optimize for PlayStationUntil it’s delayed for late 2023/early 2024 because we need time to optimize, improve the experience etc. I know the story already.
Yeh that about covers it, plus minus some amount of curated planets.Maybe I read it wrong awhile ago, but wasn't there a set number of "curated" planets. Let's pretend and say like 5 planets. And the rest of the 995 planets or whatever are generated?

Yeah those are pretty par for the course for their games these days. I just hope there's something that adds a little fun for the physics. Maybe abilities grounded in reality with technology. For example, a device that can send Shockwave or hack enemy tech and make them explode or attack the other enemies on their team.Yeah thats the main thing I'm waiting to see. The actual gameplay systems. We know it has guns, grenades and jetpack flight. And base building.
There's got to be a large amount left to show. Stealth, new combat elements, classes, RPG and level up systems.
Graphics are not that big of a deal. It looks like an improved Fallout 4 with great art design. Then at launch we'll see if the writing and story is good.
Flight is something. But there's definitely a core combat system yet to be revealed.Yeah those are pretty par for the course for their games these days. Or, he'll, I'd be happy with just slowly lol
Yeah it seems like it could be what I wanted out of NMS. But the alien tech idea you have is coolFlight is something. But there's definitely a core combat system yet to be revealed.
I'm wondering if there's a whole upgrade path that ties into alien tech so they're keeping it hidden. Who knows.
You will get Daggerfall Bethesda, with the random planet generation instead of dungeons. But they did?
And man those animations look janky as fuck. It's Bethesda though so it's to be expected.
I really hope we get Oblivion/Skyrim Bethesda and not Fallout 4/76 Bethesda.
Yes it's the same engine. Is that the same sprinting animation as Skyrim?
Don't you have access to better jokes?I was joking
Doesn't mean it has to be the exact same animation.Yes it's the same engine.
Rocks formations look a bit on the low res/kinda flat side tbh.As long as it's this year I'm happy, plenty of people were saying otherwise.
Also it looks incredible,
Yes, something about animations is hard coded and forever unalterable in the Bethesda engine. They have basically been using the same engine and bolting new bits onto it since Oblivion on the 360/PS3. I don't exactly have any way of checking but I'm willing to bet it's the same sprinting animation since Oblivion. Is that the same sprinting animation as Skyrim?
What the hell are you talking about? Do you really not remember the last Starfield presentation?STILL no gameplay beyond the small bit they showed us a year ago. This was supposed to launch last November and yet they’ve told us almost nothing about it. Just concept art, curated cinematics, and Todd Howard cheerleading.
It’s difficult for me to be hyped about a game when all I’ve seen is curated snippets.
Don't you have access to better jokes?
No it's different. Is that the same sprinting animation as Skyrim?
...the question still stands. What does a pig put on dry skin?
Oinkment.
I would expect it to look like Fallout 4 with more inspired art design.Doesn't mean it has to be the exact same animation.
