PlayStation VR2 |OT| I heard it has a single cable. Is this true?

Pavlov is hilarious man. It made me realize how conditionalized I am to treating every shooter like it's COD.

Was in a TDM match last night and flanked around the map and saw an enemy player. So out of habit, I got excited and tried rushing him with my MP5. Ended up missing almost all my shots and ran out of ammo. I was just standing there like an idiot, forgetting there's no auto reload in this game, and I get absolutely shredded by the enemy team. Was an "oh shit..." type of a moment.

Such a fun game and the community seems cool as well. Lot of people chatting on mics giving advice and stuff. Can't wait to jump back in tonight.

Removed from thread. Trolling and doubling down on stupid.
Jim Ryan loves to talk about monopolies, but when his VR controllers don't work, you never here a word from dear old Jim.
What Silent Jim Ryan didn't tell us is you can fix your broken Sense controllers by blowing into them

Just wrap those lips around the trigger and blow like it's a large pool toy. Gamers may need a fit friend here.

I can only imagine this wasn't caught prior to launch because Jim Ryan personally was in charge of testing. This is just the shit he does on the regular and wouldn't note it.

Pavlov players, would you recommend the game to someone who is completely new to VR shooters? (i have never even played competitive shooters on normal PC/Console before, let alone VR). Will i get wrecked by other players ?

I am new to VR in general and I highly recommend it. Although its crossplay, lobbies are filled with PS players who've been playing for less than a week. Even if you get wrecked, it's fun as hell. For $25 it's a must-buy shooter imo.

i AM into that. But like you suggested, i'll wait to see if there's an official PSVR2 patch. I already have Call of the Mountain and Gran Turismo 7 to get through in the meantime.
Judging by your Avatar one could have guessed :messenger_winking:
So you've never played NMS before?

Agreed. You can also turn crossplay off entirely in the settings and just play with psvr2 users

Played it before on PC (normal, not VR) and loved it. But it has been a couple of years. Want to give it a shot in VR, partly because there are no other "flight sim" type games yet on PSVR2. I wonder if they would port Star Wars Squadrons for PSVR2.

Just got mine. Will wait to unbox during the weekend while i stock up on games.

I've got GT7. Plan to buy Pistol Whip and possible Job Simulator or Kayak (need stuff the kids can play too).

Tempted to go for Pavlov after reading comments from Rac3r Rac3r .

Any other must haves?

Horizon obviously.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!

I missed that said PSVR2 too. It looks pretty promising (but decidedly indie, it's not Bethesda or Ubisoft guys, hence I thought it's for Quest given the name at first, though that's apparently not confirmed, since it doesn't look that far removed from the likes of Zenith visually) for being so early in dev.

Games I have tried:

Horizon: Call of the Mountain - it is as shit and boring as the mainline games. They couldn't even be bothered to create a decent, standalone story for this one without shoehorning the boring, trite characters from their main series. Absolute disappointment and was able to get a full refund, thankfully.

Pavlov - It is classic Counter-Strike. Absolutely brillaint. Each gun feels and is unique. You have modern and WW2 weaponry, plenty of game modes like TDM, DM, HUNT, TTT, Zombies, and more. Only real downside is the lack of player created maps and game modes, whcih is what really made counter-strike what it was. Hopefully they can add that into the game in hte future, somehow.

Kayak VR and Puzzling Places - both I will just list here as neither are spectacular *games*, but both are wonderfully relaxing VR experiences. Making puzzles is always relaxing and just chilling in the waters in the middle of winter is a nice way to experience one of my favorite hobbies (kayaking) when I am physically unable to do so.

No Man's SKy is a lot of fun in VR! Though I will need to alter the height somehow as it feels like I am too high when sitting and I have to lean far too forward to fly.

Thinking of picking up with Synth Riders or Pistol Whip today.

Is it me, or are the puzzle pieces in Puzzling Places particularly blurred? Other games seem fine, so I'm struggling to see a technical reason as to why they are so soft.

i honeslty am wondering if a lot of these games need a patch for the psvr2 screen?
I'm inclined to agree. A few of the PSVR1 ports seem to suffer with clarity issues and, bearing In mind you are playing around with small pieces, Puzzling Places is one of those that really needs to be better. I'm holding off buying the full version as it's a bit frustrating in its current state of fidelity.

I am pretty sure they just do some low quality scan for the areas, if not rip them whole sale from places like 3D Google Earth. They aren't custom made 3D assets, or certainly dont' look it.

Oh damn! Apparently Pavlov is getting an Unreal Engine 5 update for PC and PSVR 2 in the future.

Just played Synth Riders for the first time and I can hand on heart say that it’s the most fun I’ve had with a game in a long time. So glad I gave this one a punt! If you have even the faintest interest in rhythm based games, I implore you to pick this one up!

Cancer the womens baby so we can pregnant the panda, we are looking for igloos tonight Are you sexy?
GT Sport was a mode and not the full game. And RE7 was on a VR system that had the gamer using the regular controller. But RE7 sold well though.

GT Sports VR plans were announced there was not much interest before it was properly introduced, and as for RE7 you are saying it sold well, but you're only making that comment based on how bad VR sales are across the board as shown in the other thread. It's not actually well, it's just top of VR, depending on how Capcom qualifies the term "users" in that case.

We need to be honest here and no one is, GT7 and RE8 are fine, I'd buy them, you'd buy, them, the people that we need to buy headsets to get companies to take the market seriously and invest more will not buy them in any signficant number.

I grabbed a skull cap as mentioned earlier in the thread and gave it a try today, it definitely improved the comfort and stability for me. I'm probably still making it too tight, I had the lines from the cap running over my face instead of the lines from the headset tonight. I'll get it figured out eventually. Calibration is really getting better. I feel like the adjustment screen where you set the IPD and see if the headset is centered is so much blurrier to look at than the passthrough floating text and actual games but still useful in finding the vertical position fast. But even lower resolution games like RE8 look so much better than the damn Cinema mode home screen, hopefully there's something they can do about that eventually.

I also finally made it through the first Lycan assault in RE8 and almost in to the castle. God I don't know how I will ever finish this game, but a little at a time I guess. The Lycan jump scare stuff isn't as scary as I thought at least, and you can still explode their heads which is always fun, I just am not a fan of scripted gameplay where you just need to survive for X minutes. Hopefully the vast majority of RE8 is set enemies that don't respawn, but if not, there's always RE4 in the near future.

Moss is so much better than I expected too. It's going to be my sit down game for now, with Horizon and RE8 the standing ones. It's just so much more immersive for me to be able to looks all around me up and down and move the camera accordingly so for now I definitely prefer standing in first person games.

The VR2 system really works well. Tracking gives no issue, the sense controllers are nice with the weapons giving resistance on the triggers like the shotgun, and all the rumble is good too. It's been such a nice entry in to VR for me!

Ugh. PSVR1 tech support, please.

So I sold on my psvr1 to a really nice guy. He called me back and asked if he was doing something wrong because the tracking lights on the headset don't turn on.

Now I was just playing this thing a week ago. Also, he took it to his friends house with a psvr and they did some parts-swap troubleshooting, which definitely narrowed it to something about the headset itself. All the stuff I sold him ("my" stuff) works fine with his friend's headset, and my headset doesn't work with his friend's stuff.

The thing seems to throw no particular error messages, and he can even go to the "calibrate tracking lights" screen and they don't turn on. I've searched and found issues with a single tracking light burning out. Is there any kind of failure where all of them turn off? It also lets him start a vr game with no error, but of course there is no tracking?

Anyone got any ideas?

Man, I think I have to try and return this thing or sell it.

I think the idea of VR is so cool but I just can't do it. I have astigmatism and everything seems so blurry no matter what I do. My stomach turns every time I try and move in REVIII. I found the headset to be really uncomfortable to take on and off and after playing for about 1 hr I feel like I need to just lay down, drink water, and try not to throw up lol.

I'll try VR again in 10 years when we have 360 degree treadmills for movement and all I need to do is put on a pair of thin glasses.

Reloading the guns was awesome though. Kind of makes me wish Sony just went all-in on creating high-end motion controls for games with the adaptive triggers and vibration. VR just doesn't real feel immersive enough to "wow" me when you can't move and you can see these giant black rings around your field of view that are clearly the goggles.

Try playing some stationary games, seated experiences. Moss 2 is fantastic on Quest 2 and I assume it’s better on PSVR2. Third person platformer, stationary camera where you kinda look down on a diorama. Superb game.

Had a weird thing where the left sense controller didn’t sync on startup. I had to reset the PS5 which fixed it.

I also get a weird thing in Pavlov with my play area acting up for a split second every now and again.

Have to agree this is literally the only game I’ve ever gotten a pistol kill or knife throw kill ever outside of License to Kill on Goldeneye: I also have discovered I am not someone who can handle analog turning in VR though.

Camera height can also be altered in the options menu, if it's a fixed position or at the height of your character (and the difference between a Gek and a Vy'keen is noticable, plus scaling for 5 different body types). So that might help. Otherwise just change the floor settings of the PSVR2 itself.
