Their silence about Splatoon's worldwide sales is weird right?
I mean they were pretty quick to release PR about MK8
they are too busy printing discs to meet japanese demand!

There's no point doing a specific press release unless it's hit a noticeable mile stone, I imagine it's still the under a million worldwide so that's why we haven't heard anything, might have a better idea after the npd tonight
They did gave us a pre-order figure of around 1.5 million ahead of the launch. They wanted a bigger number for the follow up news hence the wait for 4 million sales. We actually saw this with the Witcher 3, where they waited and chose not to give out the one-day, three-day, or first-week numbers, instead giving out the 2-week ones when it hit 4 million. I suspect Nintendo would rather give a 3-Week 500k/750K than a 2-week 450K.
Speaking for Xenoblade and Famitsu:
Media Create Sales: 2013 CY {2012.12.31 - 2013.12.29}
604. [WII] Xenoblade Chronicles <RPG> (Nintendo) {2010.06.10} (¥6.800) - 6.840 / 193.848
Famitsu Sales: 2013 CY {2012.12.31 - 2013.12.29}
1000. [PSV] Time Travelers <ADV> (Level 5) {2012.07.12} (¥5.980) - 1.639 / 21.710
Nowhere to be seen (again)

Naah, that's impossible. I think, in the best case, it'll sell in-between Splatoon's debut week (17k) and Splatoon's second week (21k). If it indeed increases, I'll drink my p-...damn, already taken. Ok, I'll suc-that's been overdone, even! Well, I'll just be happy then.
u realise theres only a few k difference for it to have a jump or sell between 17-21k right? lolNaah, that's impossible. If Takahashi and crew move forward with the critiques in mind, it should help the next title (which will exist, even if I have to bankroll it!).
Wii U has a pathetic software forecast.
Also, Sega doing some weird marketing for Monster Gear

Lol they said Shiren 5+ already met their sales goal at the stream. Must have been very cost effective project..
Is it possible to see wiiu sales jump again for a third week?
That is impossible right?
I've read here that last week's Wii U numbers were somehow affected by stock issues, and that this is the reason why this week numbers were higher (for MC or also for Famitsu?), so I can't see it being even higher the week after. Hopefully, the Splatoon expected strong third week could help it in dropping slightly (as Moor-Angol said) and still keeping it's "momentum" a bit longer.
We know that is currently second in LTD digital charts
Wii U Digital Ranking LTD
1. Dragon Quest X: Nemureru Yuusha to Michibiki to Meiyuu Online
2. Splatoon
3. Pokemon Scramble U
4. Mario Kart 8
5. Art Academy SketchedPad
6. Famicon Remix
7. Super Mario World
8. Super Smash Bros for Wii U - (According to Famitsu estimates 43.550 digital not including download codes)
9. Super Mario 3D World
10. Pikmin 3
http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wiiu/software/ranking.html
43.550 is the very minimum, if Famitsu estimates are accurate.
I have a hard time belieiving that Splatoon week 1 digital sales are higher than ltd digital sales of Mario Kart 8.
Like I said, I guarantee Famitsu digital ranking for this month will show different numbers.
If i'm wrong then i'm wrong.
It moved to that position on its second day on the market.
It has probably yet to reach a million worldwide. That's a possibility since it may not have sold that much in Europe. But we'll probably hear more when NPD and NoA PR drops.

Any news of how Mobius has been faring after launch?
I wanna know if FFXVI is mobile hehehehe.
I know. I've seen this before. And it's what my previous post was referring to as i've seen loads of people throw out the 43k+ number.

Big budget is relative. Monolithsoft is still the ~100-person studio they have always been. It's not like they grew into a 200-person studio to make Xenoblade X. Towards the end of their PS2 dev cycle for "big" RPGs, Xenosaga had declined to about 170k for the third game. That didn't stop them from getting Xenoblade made on the Wii later on, and that sold like 160k. That didn't stop them from getting Xenoblade X made, which should sell about 150k when all is said and done. Maybe a bit less. They've also had games like Disaster which was by no means cheap to make. That cratered even harder. Sold less than 30k and wasn't even released in the US.
I don't see why things would drastically change overnight. Maybe their next project won't be a console RPG which takes 4-5 years to release, but they'll still continue making RPGs unless Nintendo decides to repurpose the studio into a pure asset studio. They already have Monolithsoft Kyoto for that though.
Anyway, the bigger question right now isn't "will Monolithsoft continue to make big console RPGs" but "will Nintendo have a console next generation".
The famitsu digital chart is (apparently) eshop only sales, the Nintendo eshop rankings include download cards too which seem to be selling very well for splatoon, so yeah the numbers probably will be different doesn't mean it isn't selling digitally any less brilliantly than we all think though
Interesting. Looks like Rhythm Heaven didn't lose its appeal like a lot of the new ips established during the Wii/DS era that flopped considerable.GamesMaya's report
- Surprising first day sales for Rhythm Heaven: The Best+
- From kids to adults, a wide range of users.
- Commercials are helping, nostalgic feeling is transmitted.
- Nintendo should send new shipments or stock problems will happen.
So, Splatoon is the Type O- blood donor to the Wii U on life support. Unfortuantely the launch forecast for future Wii U games is, well, complete shit. What can Nintendo realistically do to keep things going? Launch new ad campaigns for previously released titles?

Great news for the franchise.^_^
This show that the franchise seems to still be doing quite well even after the transition DS to Wii and now 3DS.
If I remember also, this week 3DS launched new white color right? There will be chance of it increasing 3DS number too.
You're gonna take Famitsu over Nintendo, for digital sales...?I have a hard time belieiving that Splatoon week 1 digital sales are higher than ltd digital sales of Mario Kart 8.

First Day Sell-Through {2015.06.11}
[3DS] Rhythm Heaven: The Best+ <ACT> (Nintendo) (¥5.076) - 60%
[3DS] Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butouden <FTG> (Bandai Namco Games) (¥6.145) - 30% slower start than Ultimate games
[PSV] The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky Evolution # <RPG> (Kadokawa Games) (¥6.264) - 50%

Yo-Kai Watch Busters might *ONLY* sell 1 million copies in Japan. Bomba watch.
Media Create is pointing good digital sales too for Splatoon, due to shortages (still present this week).
After the NPD thread, it's kind of depressing realizing the Wii U sold more in Japan in May than it did in the US. Then again, I guess Japan got Xeno X & DQX at the tail end of April which we didn't.... (or just won't in the case of DQX)

All the Stadium games, I think TCG and Pinball did too.how many Pokemon spin-off's sold more than 1mln ?
