I HATE the hallway fight after the stair battle so much. The part in the dark. The stair battle I can ace easy now but for SOME God forsaken reason the part with the two elites after just got me killed multiple times.I'll try to give it a go later today..It's a huge help you can give a time stamp where you the most trouble.. I like to analyze so
Plus CE levels take a long ass time hahah
Legendary Solo is tough no matter what Halo experience you have - and no matter what Halo youre playing. Its far more manageable - and frankly more fun - in co-op. But getting crushed is simply going to happen - it can get frustrating. Playing solo - I tend to stick to Heroic.I made a video of me playing pillars of autumn on legendary. It's bad. I'd like someone to please critique my play and give any tips.

Legendary forces you to use every inch and resource of the levels which is awesome. Just one example: I remember in Halo 3 - the first mission in the jungles - the end section with Johnson captured - I traversed so many areas both under and around the bridge I would have never seen or even went to in any other difficulty.
Himuro its cool reading your posts playing thru Halo for what seems like the first time - hearing your impressions. Even after all these years the series still shines. IMO, the Halo series is timeless in the same fashion as Nintendo's franchises. I dont think theyll ever get old.
Your GAF avatar looks like Makoto im assuming? Ive always found Ghost in the Shell to have much in common with the human colony life in the Halo fiction/expanded universe. Halo and GitS go hand and hand.

Thanks for the tips. Yeah, plasma pistol and magnum are my favorite combo but as you can see I ran out of magnum ammo early. u_uNice. Don't be afraid to melee. Anytime you can melee an elite in the back is an easy kill. You can occasionally get away with doing it when they are distracted and shooting marines. Also, the charged plasma pistol is worth its weight in gold. Use charged shots on elites and switch to magnum for a 1 shot head kill - I saw you did it later in the level. Or let them get enraged with no shield and melee them as they run up to you. Even without the plasma pistol, if it's just 1v1 against an elite you can spam melee them and the elite wont be able to recover. I saw you were using the sticky grenades to try and get kills later in the level too. That's good. Do that as much as you can. You can stick the grunts and sometimes they'll run right into their buddies lol.
Beat Halo 3. Fantastic game, though 2 has a better story.
Started ODST and it's refreshing and just fucking amazing. Has among the best gunfights and encounters in the franchise.
I don't understand what you mean or what context you're referring to.Be sparse with your pistol. Lead your shots.
Crazy callback you're making here Makoto.
Love it

Lead your shots? Lead?
Watch Stand Alone Complex if you haven't.I'm not a native English speaker. It's lead your shots right, when you aim just about in front of where the body/head is regarding bullet travel.
Sparse as in it's your best weapon in CE so dont waste ammo. I just saw you're on ODST so nvm
I'm 40. I had to rent GitS. Hence throwback to older times!
Beat Halo Infinite finally, probably the worst halo campaign in my opinion. Still buggy had the sound cut out on the second to last boss fight (had to restart the Xbox). Underwhelming all round.

343 was definitely going for something different with Halo Infinite. I'd call it a campaign, albeit one with a much smaller story. I enjoyed it and would love to play more, but I also would have been just as happy with a traditional campaign made up of various levels. The lack of biome diversity was a little disappointing to be sure.It wasn't even a campaign.
Very interesting
The maps definitely have that look but I'd love to be proven wrong lol. I'm at work right now and haven't touched Infinite or the master chief collection in a while. I thought by this point in time I'd have a series x but have yet to pull the trigger. I keep entertatining the idea of getting a used switch off facebook marketplace since nintendo refuses to lower the price of their 5+ year old system...Who's up for some Halo torture?
They seem like launch maps for when Forge launches.
I wholeheartedly agree. Infinite desperately needs new multiplayer maps though. Forge can't come soon enough.Who's up for some Halo torture?

As we get closer to the conclusion of Halo Infinite Season 2, more leaks are unofficially revealing new content. Halo's community director at 343, Brian Jarrard, recently addressed this - noting how the team was about to emerge from its cocoon.343 To Provide Update Next Week About The Future Of Halo Infinite
Will outline the "next several months"www.purexbox.com
Next week, there'll apparently be a new update issued - outlining the "next several months" of Halo Infinite. Here's the full rundown:
Brian Jarrard @ske7ch: "We're about to emerge from this cocoon. Putting together an update for next week to go over what to expect over the next several months. Once we're fully into regular seasonal/development cadence we'll have more to regularly show and tell"
In terms of what's to come - Halo Infinite fans are still waiting for the official release of Halo co-op multiplayer and also the Forge mode, which has already been showcased in a lot of leaks. Jarrard even went to the extent of saying how he doesn't blame the community for taking matters into its own hands:
I think its more of - they just have to say what they are working on.
Interesting. Good news? Bad news? I don't think it's on the level of the studio is falling apart. Still though I'm anxious to hear what they have to say.
I'm impressed if you have been able to avoid leaks. Hoping once coop finally releases that you enjoy it.I think its more of - they just have to say what they are working on.
Co-op was supposed to hit public end of August or September and they havent said a thing in months.
Hopefully the time was spent creating all kinds of new stuff. Ive been avoiding all leaks.

At least the Elder Scrolls cook book has recipes from the games. As best as I can tell the Halo cook book is just regular food to eat while gaming. I must admit however that I would rather eat normal food haha. It's strange, but cookbooks are kinda a thing for big franchises these days.
The Halo cookbook looks like barfood. Looks like it might have drink recipes in the Halo book though. As Halo fans, we all need a good stiff drink to wash away the pain. I'm going to the book store today, so who knows, maybe I'll come home with the Halo cookbook.. LolAt least the Elder Scrolls cook book has recipes from the games. 343 Still Not Sure If It Will Add Microtransactions To Halo Master Chief Collection
The previous announcement that the collection was to receive purchasable, in-game currency sparked intense debate and discussion within the Halo communitykotaku.com
I hadn't thought about it that way, especially if new content (maps would be amazing) is added. My only thing is that it would likely be limited to Halo 3, which seems to get all the goodies. But I also haven't jumped on in a while, so I shouldn't have a lot of say, lol.Honestly if they keep going with support, new maps and content for MCC I don't mind MTX for cosmetics at all. Bring it on and keep MCC alive. Hell I'd sub to a battlepass if MCC was cranked up with maps on the regular. I'll happily be a mini whale to keep that golden Halo game running for all.
I considered posting in this thread in light of the news, but decided against it as I'd just be repeating the same shit I've said multiple times before.Well the latest Infinite news was disappointing. I came to posting something multiple times yesterday but just couldn't bring myself to even bring it up. I know the lack of campaign couch coop is a disaster and I feel bad for everyone who had been waiting all this time for it. That decision doesn't affect me personally but I know it's still a major blow to fans. I watched the full video on youtube and there are definitely some exciting things to look forward to, but I just can't get excited about the whole timeline for everything. The prolonged waiting for everything kind of trumps any excitement at the moment. 343 is trying so hard to get things back in order and keep players interested and engaged, but there was actually a simpler solution:
The biggest way to keep fans of a multiplayer game engaged isn't necessarily by having battle pass seasons, progression systems, earnable items and customization. The best way to retain players is to - wait for it - keep making and releasing new maps. That's it. If 343 spent more time working on dev made maps and releasing them on a semi-regular basis I can guarantee you that more people would still be playing. I guess it goes back to 343 always trying to go above and beyond. They seem to have a weakness for biting off too much to chew and fumbling the whole debacle. I'm still waiting for alien purple map.
I also had that same feeling, like I'm only going to say what a thousand other people have already mentioned. I like the approach of not outright taking Halo away from 343 but possibly giving a 2nd dev a chance to make a spinoff game. Sometimes I wonder if 343 wouldn't be happier if they could make their own FPS and not be bound by trying to please Halo fans. Your idea could be a blessing in disguise.I considered posting in this thread in light of the news, but decided against it as I'd just be repeating the same shit I've said multiple times before.
All I'll say is, I would like to see MS give one of their other studios, such as id Software, a shot at making a Halo game. Perhaps a spinoff first, just to see how it goes... as a "test run". And then after that, if it goes well, think long and hard if maybe it would be best to make that studio Halo's new home.
And that's all I'm gonna say.
The warthog runs are fun. For me it's one of those why not questions. Maybe it's time for Halo to go full spin-off mode like Nintendo does with Mario lol (Okay not quite to that extent). But a smaller game from a different dev would be intriguing.I'd kill for a Respawn Halo, Xbox dropped the ball not buying them early on with the Titanfall series before EA got em. Campaign and multiplayer.
Id software would an interesting one too.
I have interest in something different such as a Warthog based game built in say 1-2 years off the tech running Forza Horizon and that hog run that was glorious.
Why don't they just task a couple of dozen people and run with all those assets and engine as is? It shits me this industry doesn't reuse and repurpose what is been done for a game based on providing and experiences over all disciplines in a studio having to dev an entirely new game and engine and assets every time.
I'm quietly optimistic about a lot of the changes and upcoming content. It's really just the time line in which it is coming that's annoying. November is still months away, but I'm desperately hoping that forge blows people away. It's like the one thing that, assuming 343 nails it, would go a long way in appeasing people until Season 3 next year. I'd go as far as saying that I'm more interested in seeing what fans can come up with, in terms of new maps, since 343 just completely failed in that department. Like I just want maps and lots of maps. That's the only thing I want from Infinite, excluding the need to optimize the game and get rid of the desyncing issues, network stuff, etc.I'm reposting my post this from the main update topic thread. What say ye Halogaf, are you optimistic about the updates?
I honestly don't mind that Season 3 is delayed, because I'm not a big fan of many of the Season Challenges in Infinite to begin with and feel the whole system needs a revamp (which they have been doing over time and with the per-match XP in the November update ).
Ya, the no couch co-op, while not that big of a deal, comes at a time when the last thing Halo needs is negative news. But overall, I'm actually a little amped for this November update. Adding online/network campaign co-op (way better experience than crappy split screen), Forge and per match XP is Infinite's biggest update yet. Then there are two new maps, one new gameplay mode and a free mini-season. As a big fan of Spies vs Mercs from Splinter Cell, I'm looking forward to Covert One Flag.
Halo Reborn coming together, modding Halo 1-3 campaigns in Halo 3 engine.
Check 3.15s and 4.05s, that Chief look is fire! The classic reveal is done more iconic than Infinite.
