Little bummed about Becky winning tonight, really wanted her to win the Rumble. Which I guess she could lose to Asuka and just take somebodies spot, but I assume Charlotte gets to win the rumble cause...talent, I mean new titties.

My friend said she should win her match and then win the Rumble so she can choose her opponent. I'd laugh if that happened.
Though I don't mind keeping a belt on Asuka. She just got the damn thing.

If it wasn’t obvious they want Charlotte in the main event..because..Woo? I’d love that outcome above, but WWE has given us no faith that they can keep the Becky push going. I could see them have her lose to Asuka and maybe just take out somebody and take their number and win the rumble anyways, but I don’t like Becky taking an L to Asuka just after losing the belt. Her gimmick kind of is built around being the champ right now, hope they have a good plan to get to Mania and this isn’t just Vince wanting the belt on Asuka cause she got a good reaction one week on sd and Becky falls to the side.

Becky could take the L without losing steam. Someone could interfere to screw her, she then wins rumble, and spends Feb and March fighting whoever interfered. I feel like back in the hey day Rock lost plenty without losing momentum. Could see Becky doing the same.

What's everyone's thought on AEW? I like the fact they actually have money invested in it. I hope they can get one of the major network TV deals to combat WWE on USA/Fox.

I'm all for something that might inspire WWE to be more creative, like the Monday Night Wars. If something is seen as actually viable other than the "WWE way," it can only breed good things (and before you say NJPW, I'm talking within the States).

Hope it can deliver and send a wake-up call to the WWE, forcing them to step up their game.

right now I think its a great chance for Cody/YB and their buddies and wives/GF's to make some money off Khan. So far 3 shows planned, nothing planned till May 25th yet all we hear is how big and lucrative the contracts are and how they are equal or better than WWE money.

I figure Khan is probably 10-15 million in deep between Cody/YB/Jerhico and all their buddies contracts and bank rolling Double or Nothing and All in 2.

I figure that its going to be at least a year till they can have anything concrete down. logistically I don't see how they can book areana's across the US/Canada within the next 12 months to cover a touring and TV taping schedule. So if they do get TV they probably won't be airing shows till end of 2019 or early 2020.

The bigger question is are they going to play nice with everyone else? I think the big attraction was that Cody and the YB would bring all the best non-WWE talent to a show, thats why All In was so big. But now with contracts and competition they aren't really going to do that. ROH has already locked down talent. NJPW is commited to ROH so don't excpect Okada and Tanashi and BC to be in AEW. Fenix and Pentago just won the Impact tag titles, so I have to throw the rumor of them signing with AEW out the window.

I think Khan will spend big money on this project, but they have not said any concrete plan on making a profit. They want to pay WWE money to wrestlers and even better perks but have no plan to make WWE revenue/profit. So the question is how long will Khan lose money on this. If its true he invested 100 Million thats going to go up in smoke if they keep giving talent million dollar contracts.

In the end though its good for wrestling. If guys can get paid its a lot better. WWE is too bloated so if it gives wrestlers a chance to make a good living outside WWE then its good. They will have a fanbase so its up to them to grow it.

One thing I find ironic about all this is that these guys would talk anyones ear off about how much they make outside the WWE on the indies etc... yet there big selling point is that now independant wrestlers can get paid outside the WWE. If guys were making so much dough then AEW shouldn't need to brag about how their contracts are comparable to WWE etc...

I mean the odds have to be 85% chance Sasha and Bayley win, with maybe 13% chance of Iconics because they are the only two real teams...?

Yeah I know they are going to dump a lot right away, but with most dudes likely getting three year contracts and what already seems like overpaying of talent you wonder how long before we have a Dixie spending too much of dads money situation.

I like The YBS but them and Cody are not worth AJ styles type money. Maybe the Bucks, but let’s not pretend Cody isnt a midcarder pretending not to be. Brandi likely got super paid for being his wife, and what does she add to the wrestling? Jericho said today his deal was bigger then any deal he’s ever had. I get he’s a name and they need those for a tv deal, but I assume they throw huge buck at Goldberg too and we have a shit ton of money spent on a small handful of guys. So we gonna get the same matchups for the next year? How did that work the last few years of WWE?

Kenny will not be cheap either based on the turned down WWE deal. Now everybody will just lock up their real tale t and AEW can look forward to future stars likeZach Ryder and Dolph in the impact zone.

I would love for them to be successful, but let’s just get something going and see if it sticks. At one point TNA had a roster that should have been able to compete with the big boys and look where they are.

A lot of the current roster is beyond meh to me. Bucks won’t have any solid teams to work with for a while and they are getting up there in age I believe. Couldn’t care less about Joey Janello, only saw him at all in and that did nothing for me, Page? Same thing, like him on BTE but has he done anything in a ring I should care about? SCU? I guess, two of the. Getting up there too.

WWE is showing signs of improving, and when Vince leaves to work on the XFL maybe we can get a better look at what HHH can do with the main roster.

I haven't watched WWE in a while and I don't have cable. Any good ways to start watching again?
Also, what's up with Daniel Bryan? I heard he turned heel now?

Raw opening with Heyman talk. I’m so over Paul and Brock, I just want them to go away forever. Paul just rambles and talks, and talks, and keeps talking, but nothing of value seems to come out anymore. Why can’t we just open a wrestling show with wrestling?

I kind of agree. I disagree with respect to going away forever, but agree that they need to go away for now at least. If Brock wants to work a more meaningful schedule I'm all for him being in the champion mix. But the current shtick is so old, predictable, and now boring that I actually turned Raw off last night when he came out at the beginning. Whoop de doo, Brock is going to taunt someone and fight no-one. And Paul is going to rehash some talking points about how great he is, which is true, but which is meaningless outside of 1 or maybe 2 PPV shows every 3 months or more.

For sure, if Brock had the passion or care to do a better tv schedule because he can sell and would be great with alot of guys. His whole get beat up a little bit after dominating the first two minutes to win with an F5 is old, Pauls thing with him is old. I would love Paul to go away a bit and if they want him as a tv character give him some new blood to manage.

The most frustrating thing about Brock is that he's doing what is best for him, which is great and all and makes sense, but the unfortunate casualties are the viewers like you and me. What's more, when Brock likes/respects who he's working with, he's capable of putting on excellent matches. A real shame.

On the plus side, they are absolutely running with Becky Lynch as well as giving a rub to Finn Balor at last, so there's some optimism. Finn's too good a worker and a personality to just kinda be there, although I would love to see the old BC leader Prince Devitt in the WWE as a heel.

Bryan's promo last night was amazing. His heel work has been great but he will be face very soon because the guy is not wrong in what he is saying. And the Planets champion ? Genius.

SDL was a great show, Rey V Almas great match. Mustafa Ali has been awesome since his call up. Bryan killing it on the mic, and Becky/Asuka with a hot brawl to start it off.

I doubt she will, but if RR leaves I think it will help the division. She's just not entertaining on the mic, and her persona is making the rest of the division look like second tier wrestlers right when they were finally getting treated as more than eye candy.

From the latest WON:

I guess that's not surprising. She was only going to be around for a short while. It doesn't feel like a year already but with her debut being Wrestlemania then obviously we are getting close to that.
Saw that Reddit thread too. WWE is really trying to have a lot of crossover with the mainstream media and "real" sports, isn't it?

It helped them get that Fox deal, so it’s a good move to make.

Ronda wants everybody to stay out of her vagina.

Rousey fired back at that report with a statement released through ESPN reporter Ramona Shelburne, who is a regular collaborator with the former UFC women’s champion.

“I honestly don’t know why [anyone] feels like [they’re] an authority to speak on the plans for my uterus,” Rousey said. “If I responded every single time the world speculated what I was doing with my womb I would not have a free moment in the day.

“I really don’t feel like I should have to respond to that kind of thing. It’s my vagina, my life, keep the speculations to yourself. Leave me and my reproductive organs alone.”

Obviously Rousey didn’t flat out deny that she might be leaving WWE or possibly working a reduced scheduled after WrestleMania but she certainly isn’t going to justify rumors based around her private life.

That's my opinion on her 100%, sure she has improved from basically nothing but she still requires a ton of planning for her matches...which are all the same. She is not good for the division, she's good for having a female name for them to use towards ESPN. They have a ton of talent, but how can they flourish when she is booked like Goldberg with even less speaking skills.
