The first two seasons of the 2012 show are pretty great, considering it’s a Saturday morning cartoon.
I’d watch it over 2K3, and this is coming from someone who adores the Mirage comics, which 2K3 is based upon. I just think 2012 has better animation, voice acting, storyboarding, and general writing.
But if you want a good modern TMNT story, you have to turn to the comics.

False.That is the difference between the Comic and the movies. Comic done by Eastman can be dark and gritty. Nickelodeon wants the movies to appeal to a wide audience and have parents take kids. Nickelodeon is trying to do things to appeal to everyone. So they have Eastman write his comic, and then a broader scope with movies.
April in the original comic was a black woman.

I didn’t realize the story was about them wanting to be treated like normal teenagers by the public. That’s so deflating imo.
Awesome visuals aside, is this even TMNT anymore if it’s about mutants who want to be accepted as superheroes to the public? Sounds like something else.
TMNT can go many places, but I generally think it’s more about their growing pains as a family, the mystery of their origin, and the Foot feud. And of course they go on crazy fantasy adventures too.
Still keeping an open-mind, and I do like what I’ve seen, but that has me worried they are going to miss the entire point. Even the 2012 series, which is geared toward’s children didn’t forget what people love about TMNT.

Da Ali G Show - created by Sacha Baron Cohen. Seth Rogan co-wrote 6 episodes and each of these episodes has roughly 10 other co-writers.
40-Year Old Virgin - written by Judd Apatow and Steve Carrell.
Superbad - co-written with Evan Goldberg - I’ll give you that.
Pineapple Express - co-written with Evan Goldberg.
This is the End - co-written with Evan Goldberg.
The Interview - co-written with Evan Goldberg
Pam and Tommy - only one of the 18 producers on the show and not the show creator.
Console Wars - this is a documentary where he is one of the 11 producers.
Btw, you might want to check the mediocre movies that he co-produced as well. A far cry from the “everything he creates is a banger”.

I actually don’t think it is. At least, they could cater to the same crowd the MCU or DC does.
They come from the same world as those properties and their comic, The Last Ronin, is one of the highest selling comics of the last few years. It’s aimed at older fans of the brand.
The TMNT films can be aimed at all-ages. Right now they are very careful to sterilize them for children and I don’t think they need to go that far.

Seth Rogen is playing bebop, who is black, in this movie. So either hes black and Seth Rogen voices him, or he's not black in this movie when he was originally.
Naturally no ones making an uproar about that.

Seth Rogen being in anything is awful but whitewashing Bebop to accommodate him would be extra terrible if it's what they're doing. I mean they could be keeping him black since it shouldn't matter with voice actors but in 2023 that's unlikely so who knows.
