I've said countless times that I am a registered Republican, only because Maryland forces you to affiliate with a party to vote in the primaries (or else I'd be an Independent) and I'm voting for Kerry come Tuesday.
Not too thrilled with Kerry, but I'd rather vote for a turd sandwhich rather than a giant douche.

MIMIC: I'm worried that the polls say otherwise. It was kind of like this over the weekend:
"oh we're leading in Nevada by x number of votes already!" and then eveyone in the van circle jerks to that. It's nice to be motivated, but staying grounded is more important. In order to win Nevada, we have to do extremely well in Clark county(Las Vegas area), hold Reno, and do so-so in Carson City. I hope the remaining canvassers are up to the task.

So who do you guys think will have the best coverage? CNN if you ask me - wall to wall, real time analysis on multiple screens. That's what I like to see. MSNBC will have a skating rink with a map of the US, the individual states will light up red or blue depending on who wins them. :lol WEAK! As for Fox, I don't know what they're doing. But who really cares. Sean Hannity or Bill O'Reilly will probably be busy telling people off while the results come in.

In another thread, I listed two reasons why someone would say this, when it's pretty objective that the Republican party and its associates have been responsible for more dirty tactics in the past few years than the Democratic party.
1) You're a Republican partisan, so you have an interest in downplaying anything that reflects badly on your team.
2) Because partisan true-believerism is uncool (and if you don't believe it is, look at ErasureAcer), the proper, detached stance is to assume that both parties are equally culpable in anything, so it's useless to make any judgments about them.
We have examples of both in this thread. #2 irks me more because I don't expect anything from partisan cheerleaders, but I do expect something from people who say they are looking at both parties critically.
By assuming parallel sins on either side of the aisle, you allow one side to break the rules with impunity, helping along the problems with the system that you claim to be sick of. GIANT DOUCHE AND TURD SANDWICH HA HA HA. Parker/Stone poseurism is just as dogmatic as anything that came out of the mouths of Moore or Coulter.

Anyways, it does not happen equally for both parties. The fact is that major segments of the Democratic base (ie minorities) are easily identiible. That just make voter fraud much, much easier to pull off because you know that if you disenfranchise a black person, there's a 90% you took a vote away from Kerry. Also, the poor constitute another large Democratic base, and they are much easier to take advantage of on election day.
At the end of the day, it's largely about the what it always is about: taking away voter rights from blacks and the poor. And when you look at the history of voting for both groups, there's no way you can possibly say both sides are equal in this stuff in any way.
