Wow! The PS3 was the best-selling home console and the 3DS beat its numbers as well?
That's right!
So PS3 > 169K and 3DS > 169K.

I reordered the OP to make it less confusing.
The 360 did ~169K via Aquamarine's calculations.
The Wii U, based on creamsugar's last month numbers, would be a bit above 93K.
More than "a little bit" I think. Is that a problem or something?

January 2013 through August 2013 Xbox 360 total: 1.431 million
January 2013 through September 2013 Xbox 360 total: 1.6 million
September 2013 Xbox 360 total: ~169K
I don't even know what the Xbox statement means :lol
And all it took was an entire console generation for the PS3 to hit its stride, amazing turnaround
Right now estimates indicate:
Wii U: ~90k
360: ~170k
PS3: ~190k
3DS: +190k
Vita: +33k
If Nintendo's marketing wouldn't be so mind bogglingly pathetic recently, they might have just kept a little of the WiiU momentum by letting people know that an exclusive Sonic game comes out today (? I'm not even sure lol).
It's already a pretty weak increase for a new bundle with price cut.
NPD Sales Results for September 2013 ........
.........
PS3: Best selling console. The GTA bundle represented a large portion of its sales.

FINALLY, THE YEAR OF THE PS3!! RT @geoffkeighley
Wait, does the GTA V positioning on the chart not include any copies that were bundled with hardware? If so... would that mean that it might have...gasp... sold more on PS3?
More than "a little bit" I think. Is that a problem or something?
This is just a usual September bump. Every month till Dec goes up and up.And the PS3 would be above that?
And the 3DS would be above the PS3?
Wasn't the highest console only like 130K last month? Wow.
3DS: +190k
Vita: +33k
Man, if this is true, Killzone didn't really do much for the Vita.
I hope that we can get WW HD and W101 numbers. Eshop + retail please!
+33k doesn't mean it's close to 33k, just that it sold more than that.
So what's 100% confirmed so far?

That's why I posted in the 93k Wii U thread that we'd need to see the other platforms since by comparison the Wii U still did horrible.
obvious bomba is obvious

no one really expects killzone to help the vita though. only the sony core gamers care about that franchise.

The game sold millions, like probably 8 million, and you think the 100k tops bundles PS3 sold makes a difference? The split is going to be similar to the UK which puts the 360 version well over 1m ahead, if not more.
+33k doesn't mean it's close to 33k, just that it sold more than that.
Expect at least 4M copies of KZ:SF to be sold.
Wii U sales were also up in September a full 100 percent. "Wii U hardware sales benefitted from a price drop in September, and along with the new hardware bundle which included The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker HD," according to NPD.
I'd like to see actual week over week numbers. My guess is the sales were more or less non existent the first 3 weeks of the month. Next month will be pretty interesting. November moreso. At a >2.4x weekly average increase in sales, this puts the $50 Wii U price cut as the best in recent memory in terms of a percentage increase in home console sales due to a price cut - even beating the PS3 Slim revision.
But at a ~19K units per week average, it still around the worst weekly average the $599 PS3 ever had.
joke post right

It's pretty pathetic.
So it's only a problem if you're not ok with being pretty pathetic.
Lol ratings turnaround!
Xbox to hire Vince Russo and Ed Ferrara to steer the ship! I guess Wii U is ECW in this case
Wait a moment:

Doesn't this imply Wii U sales would be double August 2013 (31K) sales. Why did IGN say Wii U sales were only up 100%?
This is probably just a typo, but I thought it was interesting.

that's assuming that all the incremental sales can be given directly to the price dropAt a >2.4x weekly average increase in sales, this puts the $50 Wii U price cut as the best in recent memory in terms of a percentage increase in home console sales due to a price cut - even beating the PS3 Slim revision.

I'm surprised 3DS would have such a strong month. Nothing big came out in September did it?
Nopes. I would consider anyone saying less than that to be joking.
