Casuals don't buy $400-500 game consoles unless they have limitless disposable income.Really interested in Nintendo numbers.
I think the PS4 and X1 numbers are low. I hate to say it but the explosive start for these two are signs of the hardcore initials and that casuals are taking a break.

PS4 led overall hardware sales this month, followed by the Xbox One, said Callahan.
So 3DS and everyone else below ~145k.
?
Tomb Raider made the list . . . so can we expect a flood of up-ports of games from the PS360?
So PS4 is < 286k? That's really low, too. I know it was sold out, but why does Sony ship so few units in 1 month? Pachter predicted they could ship 1,4m per month iirc. But if they didn't even ship 300k to US, this can't be right at all.
Yes.
1st January PS3 - 244K
1st January 360 - 249K
1st January Wii U - 57K
1st January Xbox One - approx. 143K

Don't forget that the Xbox One requires a baby to eat once every 24 hours. That's always important. So who will be the first to make a "congratulations [X]" post?
Congratulations Sony! You sold 300K PS4s even though you have no games and PSN goes down every two minutes!
Congratulations Microsoft! You sold 146K Xbox One even though it causes leprosy, the internet is mean to it, and the Power Adapter has a fan in it!
Congratulations!!!
This totally isn't premature. So how long until third parties start pulling Xbox One support?

Serious question: What if Titanfall fails to move units?
Which SKU sold more:

AC4: PS4
Madden: PS4
Fifa: PS4
Lego: Xbone
Tomb Raider: PS4
PS4 owners eatting up EA titles. If only another EA title releasing next month was coming out for PS4...
That's pretty terrible for 3DS.http://venturebeat.com/2014/02/13/january-2014-npd-playstation-4-extends-its-lead/

It's the new "Wait for X game" syndrome that happened when the PS3 was selling poorly. Except this time it's for Microsoft...and for a game that isn't actually even exclusive to one system.Posting this question here since we now have a dedicated NPD thread:
I'm not good at predicting sales so this may be a stupid question to ask, but why would Titanfall give a boost for its release month? Wouldn't the people who wanted Titanfall already have the Xbox One by now? Would people really hold off buying the system in Dec and Jan just to buy it in February or March? I can understand holding off for nearly a year until Autumn, but a few weeks just for one game? And, wouldn't these people who haven't bought a system already be compelled to buy the 360 version since they assumedly already own that system?
I guess, is there any historical precedent for a Titanfall bump? Has there ever been a scenario where a system launches, a big semi-exclusive game comes out 3-4 months later, and there's a surge of console sales?
Serious question: What if Titanfall fails to move units?
EA has to be kicking themselves in the head at this point.
