It doesn't matter if they deliver, as long as more people are paying attention to whatever they want to advertise than there would be otherwise. See also: GameInformer cover with South Park RPG. (Sounds cool, but you know what I mean.)

The behind the scenes comment just sounds like he's surprised such a big project, spanning so many years, with so many people involved, hasn't been leaked - unlike pretty much everything else does.

...but the game itself was announced earlier, via an ARG. Half-Life 2 and Left 4 Dead 2 are literally the only two Valve games that have been announced at industry events.

Edit: The original Half-Life was shown off at E3 '97, but I'm fairly sure it was announced prior.

Sony has a lot of developers under their belt. Lets speculate what they are all doing.


Quantic Dreams - making a PS3 exclusive (could this reveal be the game)
Naughty Dogg - likely to be working on a PS4 game now
Guerilla Games - rumored to be working on shooter/rpg game for Vita/PS3
Santa Monica - making a big PS3 game (another likely candidate for tonight's game)
Sucker Punch - recently released inFamous DLC expantion, I doubt they will unveil there game anytime soon
San Diego - making Modnation Vita
London - making WipeOut Vita
MediaMolecule - rumored to be making a new IP for Vita
Evolution - making MotoStorm RC for PSN, and I am guessing they will move onto PS4 development next

So it's either a Santa Monica or Quantic Dream game if I had to guess. Probably too early for Guerilla to unveil their game as Killzone 3 was released the beginning of this year, it's been a long time since GoW3 and Heavy Rain.

The behind the scenes comment was interesting; some sort of trans-media thing? I remember Sony wanted to have Leonardo DiCaprio as the lead character in a game.

Who ever thinks it's Bungie, hes an ignorant prick. It's not Bungie, they didn't leave MS to go PS3 exclusive for God sake. AND their next game in in partnership with ACTIVISION not SONY.

If the youtube account creation date is anything to go by, this game has been in some sort of production since 2006. That's something to take into consideration when trying to guess who the developer is.

That account probably belonged to someone else initially. Sony probably took it over (bought it, whatever) after they figured out the name they wanted for this game.

Here is my bet: a dissapointed soul is going to post a thread about this when the announcement fails to meet his/her hyped expectations. How much he hates this industry's practices, Geoff and Sony.

Maybe a meltdown. Its going to be funny.

How the hell do you guys let yourselves get to this point? It's probably going to end up being a pretty mediocre announcement and some of you are going to crash and burn when it doesn't meet your expectations lol.

Possibly. If its Santa Monica though; I wouldn't be surprised for them to have planned on this after GOW and moved onto it. They've done a lot of ramping up over the last few years.

PS Blog is teasing it too so I don't see why it would be a mediocre announcement, especially if it's really from Santa Monica.

Now that The Last of Us is confirmed to be the PS3 exclusive premiere, the only surprise will be the developer. But if it is a new IP then why tease it as a "title no one could guess".

Now I guess we know it means the quality of it, and not the fact that it's a sequel to something unexpected.

This is going to be Shenmue 3. The world has gone to shit. Ants have gone berserk, people are infected/dead, Microsoft are selling Xboxes more than ever and Ryo is still looking for sailors.

Damn is this the only way to watch it, I haven't got FireFox and too lazy to do all that extra shit to bypass the region lock. Is there something like that for Google Chrome.

It would be cool if this was some kind of Omega Man homage where you go out during the day into "dungeons" (dark buildings and the like) to get supplies, and have to defend your house/base at night using what you've procured. And you find some more people as you progress through the game, eventually organizing a big escape or coup against the evil infected. I don't know. I just always wanted an Omega Man game, goddammit.

Fun #VGAs show fact #1: Kojima's trailer is all in-engine and gameplay, runs 3 minutes. The rest of the truth comes out tonight.

Wasn't the same stuff being said about The Last of Us? Maybe related? Who knows......

i think is an open-world game and the "you wont believe" part is because is making something different with ai and amount of characters....
