This is a decent list: http://snarkerati.com/movie-news/the-top-50-dystopian-movies-of-all-time/Looking for some newer futuristic sci-fi recommendations preferably with settings in a dirty, dystopian city (and not necessarily on Netflix either although its a plus).
Some examples of what I'm looking for: Blade Runner, Dredd, Total Recall, Fifth Element, Freejack, Escape from NY/LA
The Lorax...fun for kids, not so much for adults.
You sold me, thanks. I was actually steering towards watching Buffy after I started to reread the previous Netflix thread and the amount of mentions of Buffy compared to the X-Files.I have only watched about a season and a half worth of x-files episodes...but buffy. The characters are great, and the cast was perfect. All of them were likable. The show was well-written, and the first four, or so seasons, were some of the best on tv. It would be worth it just for that. I don't remember it too well, but the last season was pretty bad.

I'm in my late 30's and I quite enjoyed The Lorax.

It looks like Netflix users in the US will soon have quite a few new TV series to choose from as they wait for Arrested Development to make its big return in May. The company announced today that it's struck a multi-year deal with Turner Broadcasting and the Warner Bros. Television Group that will see a variety of animated and live-action series from the Cartoon Network, Warner Bros. Animation, Adult Swim and TNT be made available for streaming. That includes the likes of Adventure Time, Ben 10, the Green Lantern animated series, Robot Chicken, Aqua Teen Hunger Force and TNT's Dallas, the last of which is an exclusive deal that begins in January of 2014 -- all the other series will be available starting March 30th.
At the same time, Adult Swim shows like Robot Chicken and Aqua Teen Hunger Force, as well as Sony Pictures Television's The Boondocks, and Childrens Hospital from WBTVG's Studio 2.0 will also hit Netflix. The Warner Horizon Television-produced TNT series Dallas is also exclusively heading to Netflix in Jan. 2014.
Just watched "American Horror Story" episode 1. What the hell have I just watched?! Bizarre.
Anyone know how long before Mad Men Season 5 is up? I'm tempted to just buy a blu-ray at some point.
any movies similar to "limitless"?
They tend to add it around the time the new season airs.
Don't know if I can wait till March or later.....and I really can't wait for SOA till September.

Trollhunter is a pretty good film, seeing it on netflix I thought it was one of those syfy original movies, but then I heard good things about it and gave it a watch. It's a pretty goid found footage movie with some fairly impressive cgi.
Easily the best found footage movie I've seen.
Similar in terms of thriller, or genius-type movies? The latter, there aren't too many on streaming.
Next to never. That show still makes a ton of money from reruns.
O my glob Adventure Time on Netflix!

This documentary follows six teenagers who formed a skateboarding team in the 1980s, revitalizing the sport and becoming its top athletes: Steve Caballero, Tommy Guerrero, Tony Hawk, Mike McGill, Lance Mountain and Rodney Mullen.
Dennis Hopper narrates Cesario Montano's documentary on the roller-coaster life of skater legend Christian Hosoi. Earning the awe of his peers in the mid-1980s, Hosoi then hit rock bottom with crystal meth use and imprisonment for drug trafficking. He found redemption in Christianity and now strives to be a positive influence. Interviews with skaters such as Tony Hawk, Jason Lee and Tony Alva, and never-before-seen home videos, are included.
Good-time specialists Fishbone get the spotlight in this lively documentary about the all-black punk-funk band that sprang out of South Central Los Angeles in 1979, signing a record deal before their principals were out of high school.
Man, I really liked Silver Lining Playbook. It really got to me. Best movie I've seen in awhile.
i see "how i met your mother" on netflix.
Great movie but uh...this is on Netflix in your country? It just came out in theaters or did this post just go over my head.
Speaking of which (for Jennifer Lawrence fans) apparently Winter's Bone is expiring on 1/26/13. Saw the expiration date on my Xbox. I thought expiration dates were removed?

So I guess that Cartoon Network deal doesn't include Tim and Eric Awesome Show Great Job? That's a bit of a bummer.
Just watched Luther. Can't wait for season 3
on Netflix?

Wrong thread! Sorry guys!
Just watched Headhunters. It was ok. I was really confused by two things though ...
Why was Clas hunting Roger? To punish him for not giving a recommendation? And why did everyone assume Clas killed Ove at the end when while on video Clas was referring to 'Ove' as Roger and talking about his wife Diana.
Sweet. I just blew through season 1. I thought I had fallen in love with another canceled show.
Its the BBC so you're not gonna have that problem.
There's an "ending" at the end of season two so it'd still be worth it.
