Youkai Watch 2 needs to sell at least 39k/week to reach 3m before the end of 2014. And damn, 7th week in #1 spot. Unbelievable.

Yup, holidays are over.

Seeing western games in the Japanese top 10 is still pretty fascinating to me. Good on Naughty Dog.

Let's see if Yokoi Watch will break the 3m barrier this year.

Why on earth would a 3rd party developer make a game for PS4/WiiU when they sell like that. At this point making a Japan exclusive game is just stupid and outside of few titles support for those consoles will be bare bones . Home consoles are really dead in Japan.

Based on a quick check of Garaph, Hyrule Warriors' decline seems pretty sharp. Other recent Warriors games second week has been around 30% of first week, for Zelda it's just above 20%.

I'm not surprised at Bullet Girls sales.
Even if it's a bad game on Vita, if you have clothes ripping mechanics it will sell at least this much.

Has it reviewed badly? It's on my 'maybe import' list because I thought the gameplay looked pretty cool.

Bullet girls even costs more than tlou wtf. Sony have to be in panic mode over these numbers. PS3 seems to have finally hit a wall like overseas.

Although I was something of a Sony fanboy back then, I miss the 2007/08 days of Nintendo dominating with the Wii and DS. I'd rather see one company do very well rather than none. The 3DS has certainly dominated but that's partly due to the sales vacuum left by every other system not selling. I was almost convinced that the PS4 would be a success because something had to sell besides smartphones and the 3DS.

Well, I don't find it that surprising for Bullet Girls on Vita to beat a remastered Western game on PS4.

Edit: Actually, it didn't beat but sell on par with it.

An oversall drop was to be expected. Wii U has Bayonetta and Fatal Fram toward the end of next month, but it's probably going to hover around 10k until we start getting into to the end of year sales.

Joking of course, but Diablo and Last of Us both in the top ten is surprising. Though those hardware sales are shocking. Hell of a drop for Wii U in particular :(

From what I've seen it beats Shinovi Versus in terms of fanservice but unlike Shinovi Versus it fails in terms of gameplay, in this case emulating a third person shooter (it has sparse enemies and really bad AI).

Shinovi Versus , on top of the fanservice, is a fun musou game. Bullet Girls is not a fun Third Person Shooter.
