By now you should know that beast mode is an on going joke.
Well the system entered it's 4th year on the market, of course sales will slow down at some point especially when it's been two years since they had a new 3DS version.

I don't know if the PSP version will be abandoned, due to specific European and South American markets. But I can certainly see a Vita version happening soon for Japan. I'm still surprised it hasn't happened yet.
Btw, what week is this for PES 2014 Blue Samurai? I'd like to make a comparison with 2010 Blue Samurai, but don't remember how many weeks have passed since its release.

It's Pokemon with Japanese folks monsters, probably minus the anus bloodsucking and stuff like that. My understanding is that it has cross-generational appeal. That is to say, it's nostalgic for older folks.

Likely means it's not coming. That's how I take statements like that now. Level 5 like Square Enix seem to be quite happy with just keeping their games in Japan when it comes to the 3DS. If this game does get a western release I won't be surprised at all if it's not Level 5 releasing it. Instead I expect it published by Nintendo when they need to fill out the line up because one else will localize their own games. Even that is a big if.
Japan isn't representative unfortunately, but I'm glad the Vita is able to stay viable in one region.
well they are. scej is the only one collaborating and releasing vita exclusive games where the vita sells decent.

Oreshika 2 releasing tomorrow making it the last SCEJ Vita game that is coming for the system.
TGS will be interesting to see if they stick to Vita or move over to PS4.
Having SCEJ focus on Vita and SCEE/A focus on PS4 would probably be the best strategy at this point.

I'm curious to how the games are though in relation to Pokemon. Do YW1 and YW2 have the same protagonist? I think it does. Does it take place in the same location as the first one? Are there new mechanics? I would assume there are new monsters.

Haha, no, probably not. But 3DS and Vita both got nice boosts this week.
Famitsu? Than nope. Week 13, 15, and 18 all had PS4 less than 7k.
GR2 might not be a Vita game though.

Feel a fool for doubting the original Yokai which had a moderately weak start in life, but that anime REALLY changed things and its just taken off.

I think YW2 will joining that club sooner rather than later. Yes, they have the same protagonist (well, protagonists, since you can be male or female). The areas from the 1st game are in the 2nd, but there's a ton of new areas in the sequel too. There are some new mechanics related to battle and the overworld, as well. There's also ~150 new youkai.
