Growth..?
Considering the YTDs, it had a HUGE increase from last year's number. From zero to 6980 is an unprecedented percentile rise.

How much was the worldwide sales again?
It had shortages in a few places but not enough to really make a difference.
Xenoblade did decent, remember its only on the n3DS.
I think you mean the NX on that last part
Type-0 is a game that sold over 700k, Xenoblade did under 200k. Why shouldn't Type-0 HD sell twice as much as Xenoblade 3D?There are 1.8 million N3DSes. Type-0 HD did twice as well on a much lower install base(1.35M).
Xenoblade may not be a total bomba, but given that XBX is about half of the WiiU line-up for this year, it probably means that there is little that will move units until and except for Splatoon.

No.1 game selling 20k
Is this the slowest week in recent history? If not, please share worse weeks for shits and giggles.
At this point I'm just wondering how low the PS4 can possibly go. 13k, 11k?
There's five months until PS4 gets a new game, so it'll probably be close to 5k in July/August.
It still confuses me why people were proclaiming the PS4 was going to have such a good year.
Oh and poor DQ Thretagsjh, we thought it would be a good idea, but as soon as I watched the trailer I knew it was nothing special. Dragon Quest may be bigger than Final Fantasy in Japan, but not for its characters/music.
I expect Style Savvy 3 to be the big seller of the week, but how is Dying Light expected to be doing? About the same as Dead Island, or more like Dead Island: Riptide?
I guess in the West, the big game for PS4 (and XB1) is Arkham Knight in June, but without that, the next big game for PS4 (and unfortunately PS3) is MGSV? Do you think the PS4 would have done better if some of the games that released this past month were spread out more? Like releasing OPW3, Disgaea, and potentially some of the other games a bit later?
This is certainly true. There's a reason why the NX is something they're actively developing.
That said, Wii/DS -> Wii U/3DS was also a catastrophic failure with tremendous revenue/profit decline, yet they're still around and making money, so this is hard for me to see as anything but a potential positive for their business. Even if it fails, it's unlikely to cost a fortune, and the potential upside has a very high cap.
To use a similar example from merchandizing, Amiibos can't even begin to compare to the money Skylanders make, but they're still a good source of income worth investing in.
As it stands Nintendo's core business is still inexorably linked to their hardware and traditional device software, so barring huge breakout success, successes and failures in that arena will determine most of their revenue.
It takes a long time to ramp up other businesses, so maybe that won't be true in 5-10 years, but year if we're discussing the short term or even the mid-term, I agree they have to have success with their next platform if they're going to have even remotely good results.
PS4 Schedule until MGS5 from Famitsu
25 June 2015
Ride
Watch dogs
Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag
Chaos Child
Hotline Miami: Collected Edition is also due out June 25th
Don't know why everyone is acting shocked. We knew that the school season was starting back up so sales were going to drop hard. Give it some time to stabilize.
Everything dropped quite badly apart from the Xbox One, which only fell by a few hundred.
Thanks a lot for the pics, as usual.

Yup, May is not gonna be pretty this year... and I'm sure GW will be even worse than the past 2 years. Well, maybe not for the 3DS which has a better line-up than last year.
Software wise, this Golden Week looks far better than last year.

Give ps4 some time and it will go higher.
Really? Any reason why? (Serious question).
Based on the current "sales climate", things don't look too hot... but then again, I don't remember too well the line-up for everything except the 3DS, so.... yeah.
I'm not sure exactly what you're asking that doesn't have an exceedingly obvious answer. No traditional player has transitioned to rely solely on the mobile market; no traditional player is configured to do so. But there are players operating solely or predominantly in the mobile space successfully. So far, no one of them has shown that it can rely almost completely on the mobile market. That's why everyone is still actively developing in the traditional market, or the PC sector, such as Sega; having one or two hits might seem good in the short term, but will it be in the long term? Hard to say. For example, once Sega cannot exploit Sonic anymore (because of reasons), will they be able to run solely on mobile games?
Meanwhile at FROM Software
Dengeki Sales: Week 15, 2015 (Apr 06 - Apr 12)
03./08. [PSV] Minecraft: PlayStation Vita Edition (Sony Computer Entertainment) {2015.03.19} - 13.624 / 97.281 (-22%)
Okay so let's start with this line:...in the short term. The problem with this type of businesses is that it is still hard to assess whether the long term impact will be positive or not. As already discussed, for example, fidelization is pretty low in the mobile market (and this is because of inherent different entry barriers for consumers), and the quality of the experience is typically a secondary element. This might be dangerous for a company as Nintendo, which always relied on characters and the quality of their games. Same goes for amiibo: in the short term, they seem a good stream of revenues, but will they be in a few years? Will they be able to help the company, or will they be deemed as useles money-maker?

Was it Iwata that said DeNA will be helping with backend/account system for Nintendo or did I dream that up?
In addition to developing smartphone games with Nintendo, DeNA will also help the company create its new membership service, Nintendo said today. This membership service will be compatible with Nintendo 3DS, Wii U, PC, and smart devices.
