Isnt it below 20k in mc?
And we haven't got numbers from Famitsu. Someone is just trying hard.

Give it time and they'll produce some great games. Western devs have managed, Japanese devs will follow. Mobile gaming ain't the devil, it's just a little different from what we're used to.

Why is new thread taking so long???
Then you're not looking hard enough, seriously. Maybe check out the iOS thread from time to time?Eh, I have yet to see great games on mobile
Absolutely, fair point. I think they can do better by way of 'larger' games though. Stuff you play for hours, not minutes. I have faith that once Japanese devs really get a grip on what works for mobile gaming, they'll produce some great stuff. They already have with PDZ and Brave Frontier. I mean on the top grossing chart, theirs is better than the west with Candy Crush Saga.

Coincidentally, I have Ghost Trick installed on my phone. I know, I know, there's the whole 'port vs. original content' thing. I'm not providing GT as an example, just saying it's a funny coincidence.
So why the heck is Style Savvy Trendsetters coming back up.

...these numbers....
...these numbers....
What do you mean? They're astonishingly high.
I feel this is a misconception in that many of the top hits on mobile in the US are actually directly derived from Facebook games.are from f2p mechanics. I'm sure the revenue stream will decline to more normal levels as the industry burns through the whales, just as facebook/zynga did.

People in the other thread saying WiiU will reach 15mil+, not a chance.

Facebook didn't burn through their whales, they just moved to phones where reaching the same games were much more convenient.
Companies who failed to make the switch quickly (*cough* Zynga *cough*) got burnt hard while companies that did (Kabam) made a shitload.
I'm going to take a wild guess and say you would like this one.Eh, I have yet to see great games on mobile
Ahh, that also explains the relatively low sales.
So when will the US get this.
3DS higher than last week for Famitsu, lower for MC. What's up with such discrepancies? :lol
Well, the 360 has officially been murdered by japan
Oh wow, and Japan's population is roughly only a third of the US.
Eh, I have yet to see great games on mobile
That happened in 2009
9. Xbox 360 187

Btw, remember this was the week before the XL model starts being sold with the free voicher (which, technically, accounts for a 4,000-5,000 Yen price cut for the XL itsel, if you think about it). For those in Japan: is Nintendo advertising the new offer? In a good way? They need to male people aware of the offering.
IIRC, the game/update had content that was only in the Western release to begin with, and a few extras, so maybe there'll be a patch at some point?
After the soaring success of Candy Crush in Japan, King is opening a Japanese office: http://www.develop-online.net/news/king-opens-japan-studio/0192045
They will start by localizing the rest of King's games and then move into game development.

Depressing shit bro.

There are tons at this point. You're just being willfully ignorant at this point.
As a whole I'm not going to disagree with your core point in that Japanese handheld development is significantly stronger for traditional audiences than Japanese mobile development. As I said, my problem with ports is that I doubt the original game would exist if only on mobile. When you have nothing left to port, you have to make brand new games and that's the complicated part. Sure, there are a lot of funny games on phones (I'm actually having a lot of fun with Smash Hit or 2048) but those are 5 minutes games I check sometimes. But for great games ? I have yet to see one.

At this point Japanese handhelds largely receive the type of local market support that consoles do in the West, so you have a good share of the best teams working on them, whereas mobile tends toward newer staff working to appeal to people who want to play for 5-10 minutes as a time and view gaming as a fun activity in the margins of life rather than something you sit down with for an 1-3+ hours.
That said, as things continue to wear down, I suspect we will see some more movement in mobile toward things that resemble traditional games. I feel we're seeing heavier attempts out of companies like Square Enix and Level 5 lately even if they're obviously still not comparable to their handheld output.
Ah, man. I'm jealous.
Speaking of beautiful views:
Yes, you've got a point here ! But my main concern is that when best teams will move toward mobile... will they adapt to the mobile market, or release their usual stuff on mobile ?
