2nd week comparison (handheld)

10./03. [3DS] Senran Kagura 2: Crimson # <ACT> (Marvelous AQL) {2014.08.07} (¥6.998) - 9.624 / 56.119
20./10. [PSV] Senran Kagura Estival Versus # <ACT> (Marvelous) {2015.03.26} (¥7.538) - 8.297 / 52.845

Good call from Marvelous to make it multiplatform (handheld/console).

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or if you genuinely believe the Vita version would've sold identical numbers if a) it wasn't sold out, and b) it was exclusive ...

Puzzle and Dragons had mucchhh more improvement or specific feature than what we had known from Kancolle though.

Well actually I gotta question that notion. I mean, any addition to OG Kancolle should be a significant improvement lol (then again why do I keep playing this is a mystery).

Edit:

It's also worth mentioning that Vita's LE had some elements intentionally removed compared to PS4 version (and purpose is to promote PS4 version more).

Just like Puzzle & Dragons.
It's has already 86 points on comg store with 142 days before it's release

I'm not convinced COMG preorders right now are indicative of a train picking up steam. They could be the result of the anime just coming to a close and people now being reminded of the game's existence. It might just be compiled preorders after the game's numerous delays, the last of which saw it from coming out next month to August.

Any chance of seeing PS4 games have legs, for example Bloodborne and Yakuza 0 selling a good amount of units since the system has some momentum?

Waifu? I mean on Puzzle and Dragon, we had Mario edition here while Kancolle, do we have exclusive content i mean? Or it is simply some extra update like Idolmaster for PS3 something like that?

I think their digital numbers don't include February where it sold ~33k. I have Minecraft as follows:

Retail 77,619(Famitsu) + 264,324(Digital) = 341,943

Or 337,424 if you use Media Create for retail.

oh thx for your update

so we are still missing March DD numbers, aren't we ?

I'm curious to see if the retail version had an impact on the digital sales of both PSV and PS3 (remember Minecraft PSV retail also has a download code for PS3 version)

From what I'm looking Vita version may turn out to be in different genre (I see hexes so SLG maybe?).
..or it's more like OG Kancolle doesn't have so much "game" element from the first place

Hmmm. From what i remember on the original Kancolle, the battle is not even Srpg style right? only like develop the ship and then choose some kind of formation before battle and then the game goes by itself.

Maybe if they actually made this game into like SRW style it will be more different than Puzzle Dragon there.^_^

Yeah that's what I'm saying. The OG Kancolle's fun part is leveling and fleet assembly. However the battle is completely handled by RNG (you can't even command your fleet to go north or south or whatever). It's like even you keep defeating enemies without getting a scratch 90% of the time you won't reach the boss because of bad RNG. The only bright side of this overly simplistic design is that people without any knowledge of modern gaming can play it (I hear some ooold retired marines can play this lol).
Anyway I'm getting little OT so I must stop here hehe.

Well, Kancolle on PC is a F2P game. On Vita it appears to be a traditional packaged game. That seems a lot more like P&DZ than Idolm@ster 2 or something.

Well from both ur information, i see that it is highly interesting here.^_^ And reading from information on wikipedia, it seems that this project is not really looking for normal kind of profit however more on spreading the idea of this project to lead them into other franchise like anime, manga, light novel and of course this upcoming game.

Any video/trailer for the Vita release here? If it looks fun, i guess i can ask my friend to buy the game so i can tried it lol.^_^

Only a trailer from last November

Unless Kadokawa ran it as a YT ad, it's insane this has 650k views when there's 0 gameplay in it.

What's exactly insane, since Kancolle has almost 3m registered players and is very popular over there? The PSV game is going to sell well because the IP is incredibly well-known among gamers in Japan.

I can't believe Sony didn't ship enough Bloodborne copies to Japan. They should have known it would be huge. I guess they were focusing on the US.

Yeah, man. I couldn't even get my preorder delivered on time in the States. I finally received it last Friday but I returned it, because I decided I couldn't wait and downloaded it from PSN during their 10% off sale a couple weekends ago.

I'm glad this game is a hit. I hope it helps draw in more Japan gamers, so more Japanese devs turn towards the PS4 and maybe even feel less need to westernize their games.

Unless i am wrong here.(Correct me plizz guys.^_^) I don't see any of the video here showing new gameplay except for.....waifu?(Love Yamato though.^_^ Need moar Bismark plizzz.)

Hope that Kadokawa is going to release true gameplay trailer here.^_^

yep you're not wrong. the only hints on the new gameplay are from screenshots in Famitsu so far

Its not that they didnt ship enough copies. They did a calculated assessment of how many potential units would sell and I must say were pretty accurate seeing how it was an 80% sell through is what the early figures were for the first shipment.

They have access to the numbers to be able to do this and its not like they just go pulling some random figure out of their ass and send that to the presser.

Massive drop for Bloodborne but not entirely unexpected. I have a hard time believing Sony has problems keeping Bloodborne discs on stock. Unless Sony and their retail partners in Japan severely underestimated demand and the supply chain is poor.

Wasn't it 87%? That means they didn't ship enough.

Yeah, it's funny to read all people writing "sold-out" when we have a title that actually went sold-out such that supply couldn't meet the demand (Etrian Mystery Dungeon, which came back in the chart last week, after two weeks of disappearance).

In the vast majority of cases, a high sell-through might simply signal that demand has been fully satisfied.

Lol That's one way to spin it I guess.

It means they made back most of what they put into the shipment and got pretty close to hitting their target number with expected sales.

Thats the point of initial shipments. You overload the market all you do is wind up having retailers online or off dropping the prices to move stock out. Which has happened in the past with a lot of other titles that over shot their predictions on sales.

Lol, so their goal is to sell out of their shipment in 2 days? Makes no sense. They obviously want everyone to be able to find the game. With 87% sellthrough rate there will be a lot of stores with few if any copies.

While it's probably not the case here, you can't be certain that a game selling close to its entire initial shipment means the publisher has hit its goal for it. The retailers might have not been confident enough to order a lot of copies in the first place for example.

Media Create Sales: Week 13, 2015 (Mar 23 - Mar 29)

21./00. [PSV] Norn + Nonette: Last Era # <ADV> (Idea Factory) {2015.04.02} (¥6.264) - 6.924 / NEW <60-80%>

That's a porting rather than a new release, right?

Seems Terraformers is missing from top 30, and still no Rodea =/

Pretty big differences between trackers this week too. e.g. SRW Vita - > 120k on Media Create, < 100k on Famitsu.

If PS4 heads for another drop close to 20k next week it's almost certain it's heading for sub 15k after April.

Does anyone have numbers for previous EDF games? I'm not too sure where/how you guys look these numbers up. I'm especially curious how it performed compared to the PS3 version of EDF 4/2025.

Edit: I'm stupid and just saw the database in the OP.

you do realize the discrepancy between famitsu and mc is 600-something units

that's absolutely nothing.

The Xbox One doesn't sell thousands of units for that to be nothing.

600 units is like 2-3 weeks of sales for the One.
