In other words, a miracle.Vita could get to 20 million if a blockbuster title came out which everyone started copying similar to MH. Unfortunately I doubt it will happen.
While there's no way Vita hits 20 million, I could see it having an extraordinarily long life, which might take it near 10 million. It took PSP nearly 10 years to get there (in more favourable market conditions) and selling at a much faster rate than the Vita even before the MH phenom. 20 million is crazy high. Very few systems get there.
So, just wondering... is anyone here actually a fan of Youkai Watch, and follow the anime/played the game?
What happened to Yokai watch? I remember a couple months ago people were like "Oh no another Level 5 new IP fail"
And then it suddenly spiked.

People who said it was a failed IP were shortsighted, it debuted higher than the original Inazuma Eleven and the anime took quite a long time to launch. Compared to most cross-media franchises it actually had a pretty decent launch.

Treasure gettin' paid.
edit: It's out in the fall. Does that mean Capcom is going to fund another season of the anime? lol http://www.famitsu.com/news/201404/04051065.html

When you see other games as harvest moon or rune factory by example, sales of the ds games have same sales as the ds version.
you sure?

But the 3DS is absolutely going to outsell the PSP which wouldn't fit with your agenda.
The IP for Youkai Watch is doing crazy well everywhere else too. It's in the top 5 most watch anime on TV and the manga is selling 100K.

No you're absolutely right. The difference has come from third party titles, of which you named less than first party.

Toukiden: Quiz Battle has been announced for iOS/Android: http://www.gamecity.ne.jp/toukiden/quizbattle/
I imagine they're going after the gigantic Quiz RPG audience.
Ro-Kyu-Bu Vita is the third game in the series. I wonder how much these games costs for Kadokawa to keep bumping them like that.
100k is not that much.
For license IP manga it's good. Most are throwaways and sell much lower. Also FYI that 100K was for it's first week.

Heh, development costs are probably paper thin, considering even the latest Vita entry looks like this.
Well. It's going to outsell it, but I think it's not going to end more than 1-2 millions ahead. I don't think the 3DS is going to sell >=25 millions.
What? I kinda want a Mitama TCG They were amazingly drawed
How does this thing work?
This really illustrates just how much of a back seat that Sony's first party studios have taken. There was so much rage at Nintendo's first party output for the last two years, and Sony decided to emulate that strategy to the nth degree with little to no fan repercussions so far.The software sales really are quite bad even with Knack as a giveaway.
WiiUs software sales in a similar time frame.

I actually don't think the question was about consumer acceptance, but rather Deep Down's ability to move hardware. Puzzle & Dragons Z was an expanded release of a game everyone played on devices they already owned. Will people buy a game console to play a F2P game? Maybe, if SCE and Capcom push it like SCE and SEGA did to PSO2 on Vita.
If it's like Quiz RPG, you're asked to select one of four question/element combos, and that question has four multiple choice answers.
If you select the right answer, everyone of that element attacks the monsters on screen (you can let them autotarget or target them yourselves). If you answer fast enough, they get an attack bonus.
The monsters attack every turn regardless of whether you got it right or not.
That's pretty much it for the core gameplay part. The rest is card collection that works like most social games.
Thanks for the explanation. Sounds kinda interesting, but those questions are random or related to the game?

Actually DD being F2P should mean that everyone already owning a PS4 will install the game. They don't have a reason not to. And that is a great base for word of mouth.
Many people are probably considering buying a PS4 now, but there aren't enough games for it currently. If they need convincing there is something worthwhile on it, DD will be the game most often shown to them.
And Capcom's big budget titles, many of them graphical showcases like DD, have been very important to past systems' successes. Resident Evil made the PS the success it became in its early years and a viable choice for putting FFVII on it. (Namco kept Sega and the Saturn at bay but it was Capcom that really made the difference.)
DD being F2P, the fresh gameplay, the spectacular graphics, the biggest Capcom successes did new things and were pushing boundaries both in terms of gameplay and graphics. Many defined genres.
And everyone who buys a PS4, for DD or another game, will probably try and install DD too. I can't see this not having great legs and also giving its system great legs. It is easily the most important title for the PS4 in Japan this year.
