I'm gonna be getting this game later today, and I'm a bit lost as to what I should transfer from XV1.
I was a strike super focused Namekian, with:
Meteor Crash
Final Cannon
Maximum Charge
x20 Kaioken
(I also used Burning Attack and Galactic Donuts for a spell, so I'd probably bring one of them over instead of Kaioken. Change the Future was cool too from what I remember)
Victory Rush
Super Ghost Kamikaze Attack
Final Pose
Are there any of those skills that aren't worth bringing over (as in you can get them fairly early in the game), or am I good to bring them?
For this game I'm planning on going with a male Majin, but I'm not sure if I want to focus on Ki Blast, Strike, or a mix of both. I definitely want to try out Spirit Ball, because that's always been a favourite attack of mine, and I never had the DLC so I never got to try it on XV1, and I love Meteor Crash so I'll probably use that, but I always forget which type of specials Male Majin are best with. I was never a fan of Ki Blast moves on XV1 though, so would something like a 75 Strike/25 Ki Blast split work?
Finally, which preset slot transfers over, the first one, or the most recently used one?
You can't transfer transformations, so kaioken is a no go anyway.
Out of those skills you listed, meteor crash is probably the easiest to get, same with final pose, vicory rush and super ghost should be mentor skills.
Maximum charge comes pretty late, but I did fine without it honestly, you won't have 5+ ki bars to start of any way, especially if you transfer clothing that doesn't boost it.
I would honestly transfer stuff like 100x big bang kamehameha, super spirit bomb, burst kameha etc..
Also the boosts in attack points aren't as important as the gear you wear to boost those stats, especially seeing how each stat has a soft cap for the race/gender that uses it; if your picked character excels at normal strikes, then they will hit the soft cap (70-80) much earlier than a species that isn't, this is so that one species doesn't become insanely dominant in a certain trait.
Also you get much more points in xv2 than in xv, I have 80-80-80 in all attack stats, and points in ki and health as well, so you can create a balanced character that is boosted by clothing in presets or you can create a specialist much easier.
This is because the point cap is now 125 instead of 100, though 125 in any attack stat is not worth it, 124 is the final soft cap for everyone, the final point is only worth exacly 1 point of damage. 125 is worth it for ki or stamina though, at level 85 that gives you exactly 3 bars extra before gear stats.
The transfer doesn't look at presets, it looks at whatever you had equipped.
