It's the most efficient attack speed item he can buy while also giving him a lot of stats and the additional utility of attacking when he normally couldn't, eg while stunned or moving. Combining with maelstrom makes him farm very quickly, lifesteal gives him the ability to heal while hes stunned making satanic an even better item if you can react as people go on you.

The hero itself isn't amazing right now but that item is pretty good.

Aghs Gyro is legit tho...
4200g for +10 to all stats, 175 hp/mp and the equivalent of 140 attack speed. That means you can focus on building damage instead of AS and this in turn helps you get the most out of each flack shot.
An added bonus is that the side gunner goes off even if you are disabled, silenced or even disarmed. You can even sidegun inside a Chrono

I absolutely hated the global Call Down. I used to play with a guy that went agha first on Gyro every game and used it to farm creeps across the map.

True, I didn't think of the maelstrom aspect of it. Thanks guys.

On paper it really looked like a bum deal with no flak cannon on it and taking a slot for that when you need damage.

So has anyone gone through and made a new account to recalibrate? I'm honestly very tempted to do it, 1300 games in. Focusing during Seasonal MMR hasn't gotten me out of my trench and I'd just like to play in better games. Or should I just wait until the next battle pass and try to seasonal MMR my way out then instead?

If your MMR hasn't changed a bunch recently and Seasonal MMR hasn't moved the dial, it's entirely likely you are where you should be. Recalibrating probably wouldn't have the long-term effect you're hoping for.

There have been countless tests here, on Reddit, and elsewhere where 4000 or 5000+ MMR peeps recalibrate and they're able to bypass the fabled "trench" rather quickly and resettle at their old MMRs. Some of us just ain't hot shit at this game tbh

I actually wonder if that is the main reason they do the seasonal MMR: to teach people this. The people that end up having a significantly better seasonal MMR just likely don't play ranked often. For everyone else, you are going to end up around the same MMR in regular ranked.

I know people complained about the double down MMR things, but I really don't think there are that bad. They are just a faster way to gain MMR, and will still likely keep you at your same MMR.

I had an alt I played on enough to be able to play ranked and I calibrated at 3.4k which was only ~100 higher than my main. I've never understood the mentality that a new account will somehow game the system into placing you higher. Instead of splitting hairs about whether seasonal shenanigans will help you climb faster you should just focus on actually getting better.

I guess one thing you could do that sorta resembles what I think you're trying to do is make a new account and only play normals until you've improved to the point where dotabuff is showing that most games you're in have people at the MMR you're aiming for, and then calibrate, thus sorta saving you the chore of clawing your way one +25 at a time. I remember when ranked initially came out you were able to see your hidden MMR via a console command before playing all your placements, and a win/loss in placements was usually a 100 point swing instead of 25-ish, so keep that in mind.

Dude loves to post about amateur porn, believes in incredibly dumb conspiracy theories like pizzagate, loves Trump, is homophobic, etc. He's a nutjob and I don't really believe his story, which he has provided little evidence for. The fact that he has a signed contract, yet refuses to take legal action because he is too busy/hasn't got around to it is telling enough.
