NPD Sales Results for March 2016

Xbox 360 sales in January - May 2009: 1,380,000
Xbox 360 sales in June - October 2009: 1,261,200

Xbox 360 sales in January - May 2010: 1,473,200
Xbox 360 sales in June (Slim launch) - October (before Kinect) 2010: 2,060,900

And that was with no price cut accompanying the slim model.

Two things are possible to happen this year. One is a guarantee, the other is highly likely. Both of them happening is the smartest thing MS can do.

The guarantee is a price cut to $299. The highly likely one is a slim model.

Xbone is down even being sold at $299.

Unless the price cut go to $249 than it won't change the actual situation.

Honestly, i don't think really matter GBA comparation or not.

Thise recent 2 months were good for 3DS, as for the sixth year on the market... GBA was a besting and the DS was a monster.

That deal started on week 4 of 5 in March. We have no idea how low sales were in the first 3 weeks of the month, and even then, the console is still up YoY for the month.

I do think Xbone is up more due Dividion (40k bundles) than the proce itself.

The $299 price was already happening in retail way before MS announce.

Third party sellers at Amazon does not equal a nation wide price drop of $299.

Also a lot of those Division bundles could have easily been picked after the price drop.

Was not just Amazon third party. Many other retailers still had the Gears bundle at that price.

"Many retailers", like who? The only one I can think of that had the XB1 at $299 was Walmart in February, and it was a limited time. The majority of Xbox One's sold in January, February, and most of March were sold at >$349.

It was hard to find Xbone 500GB at $349 on retail... not Amazon.

Gears bundle was $299 after holidays.

Video went viral.. basically he grabbed the Mic from Angry Joe told him you can't just "flip a switch" to remove DRM from the Xbox One.. I believe it was only days later when Microsoft announced they scrapped the DRM idea.

That's very odd. I tend to find the major really odd, though I guess it's just this character he built up over time and acts as.

Ok, now i'm 100% sure Dark Souls 3 will be first in April NPD, and by a good margin head of The Division.

Didn't expect THAT big bump compared to Dark Souls II............

Debut week in the UK seems great! Didn't think the split would be as high as 71% in the PS4's favor though!!

I predict 500K for Dark Souls III in April NPD.

Any guess? For a comparation, Dark Souls II sold a bit less than 350,000 in 4 weeks.

BloodBorne sold 389,000 in 2 weeks.

Dark Souls 3 will have 3 weeks of Sales.

It was still $349 at GameStop. Best Buy, Target had the gears bundle for $299. Maybe walk mart also. Not sure.

But also now it's actually being advertised at $299 not going into the store to buy it at $349 and it happening to be cheaper

As others responded in the exact same way, saying that Nintendo is making a traditional console hasn't really been true since the GameCube. Therefore, if someone thinks that Nintendo really is making a traditional console that will debut at E3 they are likely to be surprised.

Didn't know this was such a hot take.

Those are all Microsoft first party games, so in theory it doesn't cost Microsoft anything to pack them in, unlike say their Assassin's Creed bundles in the past. But it does come at the cost of future revenue as those are games people don't need to buy now.

I mean, of course it's at the MS store. No other retailer has that bundle besides Gamestop, and on Xbox.com, the link for the console goes straight to Gamestop.

You tried to say the price cut wasn't working so MS was introducing this bundle, and I told you this specific bundle can only be bought at Gamestop (and the MS store, which is expected).

So the temporary price failed... they needed to work on a new deal because the sales not increased like they wanted.

This new deal is like Black Friday level.

You don't do these moves when your are comfortable at your sales lol

Having Bloodborne release first will have pulled in big chunk of Souls fans. Percentage will be better n US but having an exclusive "Souls" game first was bound to give PS4 strong split advantage I addition to plain old install base.

Cheaper in the sense that you get way more bang for your buck. If we compare this bundle to the $299 Gears Ultimate bundle deal from last holiday season, you're only shelling out an extra $50 for an additional 500GB, Halo 5, Ori, and Rare Replay.

True. I didn't expect such a huge split though. (Dark Souls II Scholar of the First Sin for example was far more even in the UK I believe (in its debut week).

Last holiday season had the 1TB bundle for $349 too. Now is the same bundle plus Halo 5. So yeah, better value at the same price.

I just don't understand why this bundle isn't with the 500GB model. Would work much better.
